Call for Papers
CSRI welcomes the submission of abstracts for the 2025 CSRI Conference on college sport to be held at the UofSC Pastides Alumni Center in Columbia, SC March 19-21, 2025.
The conference’s continuing mission is to: “Provide students, scholars, and college-sport practitioners a public forum to share and discuss research on college sport.” Since 2008, CSRI has hosted the only academic conference solely dedicated to showcasing peer-reviewed college sport research.
Submission Guidelines
Research abstracts should reflect research addressing social-cultural, legal, financial, economic, political, administrative, or historical college-sport issues. Submitted research abstracts should summarize research projects that have reached a “fairly complete stage of development.” In addition, abstracts should provide sufficient detail about the research so the abstract review committee can judge the research’s quality.
Abstracts summarizing conceptual or pedagogical sessions involving college-sport will also be considered, as long as the abstract provides sufficient detail so the abstract review committee can judge the quality of the proposed session.
Authors/presenters may be listed as author/co-author on no more than two presentations.
Faculty may be listed as “Faculty Advisor” (as opposed to co-author) on more than two presentations if they are student-authored submissions.
Submission of abstract(s) indicates the intent of presenter(s) to register for and attend the conference at the appropriate registration fee.
Abstracts will undergo a multi-person, blind-review to determine acceptance.
Abstracts submitted to the 2025 Conference on College Sport should not be concurrently submitted for consideration to another conference.
Student Research
Abstracts submitted by students must have faculty advisor approval. Note: Faculty may be listed as “Faculty Advisor” on more than two presentations if they are student-authored submissions. Faculty advisors should have supervised the conducted research but not served as principal investigator and/or lead author. However, faculty advisors must have read and approved the abstract and supervised conducted research. Faculty should feel free to contact CSRI to discuss the appropriateness of this designation on a submitted abstract. CSRI is committed to supporting student research and encourages faculty advisors to mentor students and supervise student-authored research.

Authors should be mindful of the key dates below when preparing and submitting abstracts. Please note official submissions are effective as of this announcement (provided authors abide by above guidelines).
Abstract Portal Closes: Friday, January 24, 2025 (11:59PM EST)
